De zitzak werd in 1998 ontworpen door de Finse designer Jukka Setälä. In 2006 verkocht de designer zijn rechten aan het Nederlandse bedrijf Fatboy. Fatboy produceert exclusieve zitzakken, poefs en designkussens.
